Letters to the EditorLetters from our beloved readers to our Editor-in-Chief.
Editorials1970- United States vs. United Soviet Socialist Republics:
Although the news these days is filled with tales of American and Soviet power plays and shows of strength, one cannot forget about the rest of the world. Contrary to what many believe, life still goes on outside of the super powers. There are many wars and conflicts being waged that have nothing (or at least very little) to do with the struggle between Capitalism and Communism. It should be the duty of the superpowers to focus on human rights and the rights of society as a whole. Forget the petty quarrels of leaders, remember: you are not the only ones who occupy this one world. 1957- The Rise of Cuba in South America: While America is getting nervous while watching the Cuban revolution unfold, they are quick to point fingers at the Soviets. They should begin to realise that not every revolution must be Communist, and even then not every Communist revolution can be directly attributed to Soviet influence. Things happen on their own, unaffected by foreign events. If that wasn't true, how did the Russian Revolution start? |
